can someone please help me solve that
I wanted to take the log of both sides
but thats not possible
any ideasss
i know there is a way but ive forgotten it

Exponentials are never negative (under real numbers anyway). There is no real solution for k.

Post up the whole question.

A formula for the rate of change in population of a certain species of animal is given by P=200+1600e^-kt.
If the population reduces to half after 56 years, find how long it would take to reduce to a quarter of the original population.

yeaah i did it again and i got it you get the initial polulation then u take half and use that when t=56 :))

You can have a complex logarithm but in this case the answer wouldn't be applicable to population
