Sydney to LAX - 14 hrs. I agree, LAX/Tom Bradley is the most boring and poorly run airport I've ever visited. Abosolutley terrible organisation, very little facilities, people are so rude! I was in for the LATE, QUITE flight on QF108, which leaves at midnight, and the place was packed, there were people everywhere, lines out of the terminal onto the road. I never want to go back to America.

Europe is usually ~25 hours from Sydney isnt it? I really want to go to Ireland, but I'll stay for a long time.

I use to do Sydney - Woodonga, Sydney - Moruya, Sydney - Dubbo, Sydney - Warren etc a bit, Dubbo is ~5 1/2 hours, Moruya was ~6.5hrs, Warren was about 7 or 8, Woodonga was about 8 or so too.

You'll be happier now. QF flights to Sydney are now run out of T4, which is a much more pleasant terminal. TBIT is a shithole. I still remember having to run barefoot to my gate because of all the security delays.

Longest TRAVEL for me is driving across Australia (stopping @ nights) which took 4 days...and 3 days non-stop (cept 4 at stations) on the Indian Pacific...In a Plane it would have been 25hourish to Germany
