He wasn't a "learned friend" -- only barristers are "learned friends". For solicitors you just say "friend".

haha, i think his oral argument is lacking is more due to the fact that he is a solicitor rather than the fact that he is of Chinese descent.

I think the fact that his oral argument is lacking is more due to the fact that he doesn't actually have a clue what he is talking about, rather than the fact that he is a solicitor.
