I'm top ~25,740

Lol

(would you be top ~5940? (wait, does that even make sense? (just finished my physics assignment and woke up at 5:30 this morning. I have no brain power left.)))

lol, i don't think that makes sense
doesn't every rank have 50 people on it?

if i did 1300/73000, i get around top 1.8% but if i did 5940/73000, i get like top 8%,

if i calculated yours, you'd be 25,740/73000 = top 35%.

how can 90+ atar be that bad ranking percentile wise.

lol shit.

But like, I dunno. You didn't include all the cunts that dropped out (I have no idea how it works)

I just did:

9995 - 9875 = 120 (increments of 0.05)

120 * 49.5 = 5,940

Also, apparently the percentile for my ATAR (UAC table) was equivalent of what I wanted last year.
Just my luck.

Firstly, if you are trying to find someone on this forum with a 30-50 ATAR, then I highly doubt they'd be advertising something like this. Secondly, there are over 600 schools in the state, which constitutes to 70,000 students. Chances are that you won't meet someone who has gotten a 30 ATAR.
yeah, actually went on an tutoring website to find someone who got a low atar.....dickhead

1.7% of the state got above 99 last year. The 50 people for every increment of 0.5 is fallacious, look up the board of studies report. However, I think that it's strictly 40-50 people every year for 99.95.

The ATAR is a rank vs your year 7 cohort. The reason why its rare to see people with an ATAR less then 30 is because dropouts make up most of those numbers, in addition to people who dont qualify for an ATAR.

I live in GWS; but then again, it's too easy to assume half the people you see have dropped out in Year 10 **shrugs**
Yeah, fuck, everyone did drop out, but a bunch of people are too retarded to realise they're retarded and "try" to get into uni. And get *. I mean, ~50 is acceptable. I know people that got ~40s in EE1 and got that. Fuck that.

There's definitely people to fill those lower ATAR ranks. Just that it'd be rare to find them on a study website lol, and also many people would not advertise getting a lower ATAR.

Why do you never see anyone with an ATAR around the 30-40 mark around these parts? Because usually those people don't care about their education. BoS-ers usually do, so they come here, look for resources, network around and get help - so they lift themselves higher.

Plus, they're usually able students who go here anyway.

All are capable of achieving above an ATAR of 65, I don't care how stupid you are.

This guy that I know got a 45 atar and now, 5 years later is an inspiration tbh. He has his own roofing business and makes a shitload... I know kids who got really low atars (its impossible not to, especially when you come from liverpool :p) and some of them are doing well, some of them do nothing etc...

This view is a bit of a fallacy tbh. The ATAR is a rank - only a certain percentage of people can get above 65. So even if everyone in the state tried their absolute best, there would still be the same amount of people getting below 65.

If every achieved the exact same aggregate, I would expect everyone would be on the exact same ATAR. So it's theoretically possible for everyone to have a 65+ ATAR, not ever likely, but possible.
