I'm just getting confused so much. The question is When you get like a wire carrying a current and you have to do the direction of the magnetic field, err into the page is represented by the dot right and out of the page is by the cross right ??

Our teacher taught us to remember it like an arrow. If it's into the page you'll see the crossed feathers on the tail of the arrow and if its out of the page you'll see the dot: the tip of the arrow

What whitnall8 said is spot on, using the arrow method is the best way to remember it, so always try to visualize a traditonal arrow. So if you fire an arrow horizontally away from yourself, you will see the feathers. If someone fires an arrow straight at your, you will see the sharp point.
