I just got my maths 2 unit results back and got 18/120. I know this is a bad mark but i also know that i didn't study at all, i did not pick up a pen. I think that if i did study i could have got a mark from 35-50. With a mark like this could i get above 50 for Maths in the HSC?

Thankyou

That's really kinda like a fail of epic proportions. I have no idea about marks that are so low... I gues you would pull a 50 I guess :S ... I'm not sure.

With 50/120 then you will pull a 50 for sure.

Is that like 15%? Wow. If you had studied (hard and diligently) and did the homework and stuffs, then you could be able to scrape a 50 for the HSC. Although I can tell you that unless you act quickly, your ATAR will suffer if you are doing only 10/11 units. Best of luck.

Yeah i have 11 units, Ancient, Modern, His Ext, Eng Adv, Society and Culture, :( top 6 in all my subjects except for Maths. Average was around 40 though in a 220ish ranked school

I would not it is too late now to study 2u maths. Just go through the past papers and do all the questions, you will get 70/120. Well, that is what I percieve anyways. Kids at my school failed for most of their assessment tasks but got 80/120 in the trial because they spent 2 weeks holiday to study hard. I hope you can achieve the same thing.

you could boost that mark up a lot if a few days of dedicated maths study and a friend/tutor to help you because you'd be missing out LOTS of easy marks.

If you sit all internal exams and your teachers think you completed the course to a satisfactory standard, if you walk into the exams and get 0/120, you get a HSC MARK of 50.

So if you were to get 18/120, chances are you would get like 54/100 HSC mark maybe. Almost anyone can improve upon this mark though, go over all the theory and practice Q and im sure you can get a much better result
