Hey...

Just interested in knowing if students get Merit Awards if their GPA for that given year is high enough. What are the normal procedures/etc.
My GPA for 2006 is 3.83

Hopefully someone knows something about it coz i'm not sure.

Thanks in advance:)

All I know about is the Chancellor's award, which is a full GPA (4.0).

Merit awards? You mean like a gold sticker?

I know we've got a Golden Key society or something.

Heh, well see here. As far as I know, that doesn't list two prizes: the university medal for <department>, and the Chancellor's award. The medal is presented to the top student of a department who graduates with their bachelors degree. The Chancellor's award is for students who graduate with a 4.0 GPA - I assume it's also only for bachelors.

Heya, thanks for the quick replies :)

Jan Fourro and Anna Rowe call it a "merit certificate".
I got an email from them today and they said that students would be advised by written correspondance early this month. According to Jan the merit certificate gets awarded if you have a GPA of at least 3.75 for a given year- interesting.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see if anything comes through.
Has anyone else heard of such a thing?

Cheers

I haven't heard of it, either, and I've had two years with a GPA of 3.75+. I think iambored's right - it's probably localised to your division or department.

..makes sense..

ECFS students with GPA above 3.75 for a given year receive an award.
Students with a GPA of 4 receive the exactly same award, the only difference being that they are called in to attend the ceremony.

This is accurate information for those who are concerned.
