My pick for Us society is a question on foreign policy since they haven't had one since 2008. Basically just going to concentrate on it and hope it comes up lol and if it doesn't i have all my life to regret it!

Going off by the last decade, trend wise, I advise to focus on these dot points (if you're doing them):

Germany 1918-1939:
Key features and issues
-nature and role of nationalism
-nature and influence of racism
-the nature and impact of Nazism

-impact of the Great Depression on Germany

-social and cultural life in the Nazi state: role of Hitler youth, women, religion
-Nazi racial policy; anti-Semitism: policy and practice to 1939

-nature of Nazi foreign policy: aims and strategies to Sept 1939

Conflict in the Pacific 1937-1951
Key features and issues
-imperialism and responses to it

Growth of Pacific Tensions

-Japanese advance 1941-1942 and the impact of the fall of the Phillipines, Singapore, Burma and the Dutch East Indies

-social, political and economic effects on civilians in occupied territories in SE Asia
-life under Occupation

-reasons for the Japanese defeat

personal life not just their entire life? other years theyve asked for personal background which obviously includes family and education etc. but are they able to confine it to just their personal life - ie. who they married kids? . arghhhh

as in like Hitler's "legal revolution" and initial consolidation of power, beerhall munich putsch, etc. that stuff
It's not a significant dot point, doubt they'll focus an entire question on it.

Meh that's what people said about AOS for english.... "why the fuck would they ask something so limiting like belonging to place?".... i think the HSC is attempting to be very unconventional this year...... just really hoping for a nazism in power/foreign policy question, im prepped for those.... both questions on pre-nazificiation will screw me straight to hell

Well its kind of unexpected for an essay question... creative writing ok, but heaps of people would have been screwed over. Id love to agree with you, but i dont want to get my hopes up and then burst out in tears when i see the question haahah

No it wasn't, if you knew your texts (which you should've) the question was very simple.

What it did, however, was screw over people with prepared essays (most likely not on places) and that's fine by me.

I guess by that logic, you should know everything for this exam as well (which you should). I merely suggested those dot points as more of a focus point compared to other modules.

Does anyone else think that one of the Germany questions will be on Nazi Foreign Policy aims as it has never been asked? i hope there is one, otherwise ill be writing some amazing bullshit :p
I will be ecstatic if they ask Foreign Policy. It's the only essay I can possibly take full marks on.
