More of the brightest and best choose Sydney
05 January 2004
As thousands of prospective students attend the University of Sydney's Information Day 2004 today, the Vice Chancellor Professor Gavin Brown comments on this year's undergraduate applications:
"Once again the brightest and best have chosen the University of Sydney as their preferred destination. For the fifth consecutive year, more students have said Sydney is their first preference above any other university in the state. This year we have seen a 5.5per cent increase in first preference demand for 2004 undergraduate entry, an indication that the complete university experience offered at Sydney is of importance to students.
"There is strong demand for entry into all our undergraduate courses and it's expected that this could lead to further rises in UAI cut-offs. Applications for Nursing, Primary Education and combined degrees across the field, are particularly high this year."
So the rivalry continues
