MSN virus... (1 Viewer)

Does anyone here know how to get rid of an MS-DOS based MSN messener virus? Any free anti-virus software that can do it? I got hit with one a few days ago and it causes my MSN to send bogus messages to my online contacts every few minutes. I think that's how it spreads itself, coz that's how i got hit. There was this file-send titles "IMG028.zip", or something like that.

Any help would be appreciated.

Uninstall msn messenger and either actually go out and see your friends or call them on the phone.

i got those convos pop up on me... it said "naked pics of a friend.... do you know her??"

obviously im not going to look at naked pics!!!!

and besides.... my friends never send me pictures in a zip file!

Avast or NOD32 should work in clearing it.

Look for any suspicious type of process running, e.g ones like gl4gkdo.exe
My cousin had the same problem. I predicted that the weird looking file is the virus. Just to be sure i scanned the pc, and hey guess what, it was !

Amen to that. I support noobs who work in retail stores using a seriously cut down version of XP. They still manage to stuff things up royally.
