hey
Im having trouble understand in about depletion and transvers etc in dna in the mutation of dna.
can someone please explain it to me

firstly i think this belongs in blue print but anyways...

a mutation can come in the form of the *inversion* of a base sequence eg CGA will flip into AGC

another one is *deletion* (is that what you meant by depletion) where a base may be removed fromn the sequnce. the base sequence will then code for the production of different polypeptides....so different cell function.

Duplication can occur in problems during DNA replication where a codon will be repeated eg CGCCGC when the original DNA had only one copy. this will create a different polypeptide also which will result in a different cell function

i think there might be one more but i cant remember off the top of my head

Substitution as well where a base is replaced by another one which will cause a different amino acid to be coded for
ie
ACC ... becomes ACA .. unlike a deletion it won't cause a frame shift so yeahhh
