I don't do 99% of my homework that my business teacher gives me, I don't see any point in completing it as it's just really a bunch of useless textbook questions that won't even appear in assessments. But i complete all assessments tasks given. He threatened me the other day with a N award, if i continue not to do my hw. Is it an empty threat or is it serious?
EDIT: I get decent marks for my assessments

Should do all homework. You might think its a "useless textbook questions" but it really just goes over content and makes sure you know how to utilise the dictating verb.

And I think threats in Senior year is much more serious and not empty, as they were in Junior year. I'm sure they can give you penalties for not completing the however many hours of Prelim course as unsatisfactory.

Homework is still assigned work. You're failing to meet those requirements. Unless you pull 100% every test then you should consider doing business work. If the work is so pointless why do you even bother doing the subject?

It can lead to a serious matter but I honestly think your teacher is being pedantic and you should definitely talk to your teacher about it and set an agreement that if you maintain a standard then they shouldn't be punishing you. If you are getting the marks, why should they even care what you are doing?

If they decline your opinion, then talk to the head teacher of the faculty, then if necessary try the principal, to emphasise that assessment performance determines the bulk of HSC.

You can tell them that a student might do every piece of homework and still get poor marks and someone doing their own self study can do better. In fact, you can use this example to show that assessment marks determine your final marks at the end of the day for something like HSC.

I think it depends on whether completion of homework goes towards assessment outcomes for your report in your school. I think it might well be a serious threat and you should probably do a greater amount of homework-because though textbook questions may not directly relate to your HSC questions, they will build a substantial foundation to develop a greater awareness on the subject. It is always risky not to do 99% of the homework given, particularly if your teacher checks it. You can spend less effort in doing it, but I still would advise you to attempt it.

Yeah, I definitely understand, Year 11 Business is a pain in the ass, Year 12 Business is great :) But likewise what Barcyy has said, you should've picked subjects which you knew you were going to work hard in regardless, because Year 11s shouldn't go in thinking that you can drop in late Term 2 and Term 3 and resolve everything. Because thats not the case.

Now I don't know how much you value education and getting into university, but despite all hardships and boredom from Business, you should do your work :). Just doing 12 units in Year 11 is not enough. You must do them to a satisfactory standard at least.
