October 29th 2003 is the day where the creator of P2P Music Sharing resurrects, so what are your views on it?

Now that the former free music service is now a paying service, would you support them in their return?

Or would you rather stick with Kazza, or wait for iTunes, please cast your vote.

Whilst i do use kazaa....i do think its wrong *hangs head in shame*.....i mean c'mon, what if you were teh artist...i think you would be a little more than pissed if you saw thousands of people downloading your music/programs for free....and piracy of music/software just raises the price of legit software/music.....i persoanlly think that imusic is a heaps good idea

a) Someone link me to emule
b) When the industry pays upcoming artists more fairly rather than eating up most of the profits themselves, I'll consider paying more for legit music. Of course, most of the music I listen to is done by orchestras etc, and they're fairly priced (as well as the orchestra fairly paid) so I buy most of those CDs.

plz plz dont try edonkey or emule, they are basically the same, and slow as hell, use shareaza, its 3 networks combined into one, the edonkey, gnutella 2 and gnutella 3, now it supports bit torrent too

and if u ever encounter neo napster, which they claim is the improved napster, plz dont use it, its full of spyware and other shits

I've tried using Shareaza, but for some reason, it's always slow for BT.. the others were cool, but it took a lot longer to start downloading than eD2k... so I'm still using the donkey.

I personally use overnet. Much better than edonkey or emule IMHO. Its serverless and as i type this, there are 1 146 880 users online! I usually get full speed from this. Edonkey, emule, overnet etc... are usually only used for quality games / movies. Kazaa is used for small AVI movies and mp3s. Atleast thats what i use it for. :)

you said in one of the fourn rules, were not to talk bout illegale stuff rite?
but here, its all about the best place to get mp3's and the places which have no fakes and are the fastest. Intern mp3's are illegale to download arent they?...is'nt that then the exact oppsite of wat u said b4 (in another thread). althou ur proly gona say since the programs arent illegale it doesnt matter, but wat ur doing with the programs is, doesnt that count for something?
(not meaning to be rude or anything, just a question)

Not all mp3's are illegal to download.. some are freely distributed (I think... something to do with the artists).

This isn't really about illegal stuff, when we really talk about illegal stuff this is how it goes from thin ice to serious

Asking for it first

Continuously doing so

A link to some illegal stuff gets posted

there that's how it is

we're jus discussing your favorite P2P application, since kazza etc is publicly available although breaching copyright laws i mean, as long as a user doesn't point to the site and say download music here it's fine, it's a perfect debate to see the amoutn of people who will actually pay for music, because iTunes, Napster are music paying services now. So yeah, any more questions you can PM me and i'll be happy to answer them.

ARGH, ignorance abounds. The illegality of MP3s aren't even confirmed yet, as there are NO INTERNATIONAL LAWS governing them! The only restrictions that apply are local laws, which differ greatly. Anyway, my point is that you can't just immediately call the download of MP3s illegal without thorough knowledge of their origin and means of acquisition.
