There was a question in my textbook regarding locus and circles. The question states:
Find the exact length of AB where A and B are the centres of the circles x^2-6x+y^2=0 and x^2+4x+y^2+6y-3=0 respectively.
From what I assume, Im thinking this is supposed to be about the distance formula, once you work out the centres of each circle, but the answer doesn't entirely match. It's sqrt(34) units. Help please!

What are the centre points you have calculated? Perhaps look over your working to see whether you have correctly completed the square and applied the distance formula which is a square root formula. Your understanding and approach to the question sounds fine:)

Now I see what I got wrong. I'm embarrassed that I couldn't even see it. I guess that's what you get for staying up until 2.30am tying to solve a simple maths problem. Thanks a lot!
