Hi all, i was wondering which tutoring is best out of NGO and sons and Matrix for
1) maths extension 1
and
2) chemistry
i am in year 11
A bit late but I hope it would be alright to provide my two cents; I attend NGO and Sons for Mathematics Extension 1 (as a selective student), and Matrix for Chemistry (also had a 'trial lesson' with Mathematics Extension 1 of sorts with them but never continued with them lol)
NGO is amazing for mathematics, and I have attended their Parramatta campus since Year 8. I have Mr David Mai, and he's practically awesome. While we do kind of learn fast paced, the teachers are always willing to answer your questions or clarify anything you don't understand. As well as that, Extension 1 students also have access to an online Resource Bank on the online portal -- where the senior teachers have made exam/past-paper questions based of off past papers from students (most of whom attend selective schools), and I will vouch for how helpful the bank is to consolidate my learning. Matrix Ext 1 in my opinion was alright, and as Cham said, not really that challenging.
(but if you're slow at copying theory like me be prepared to have your phone out to take pictures of the slides lmao <//3)
I've only started attending Matrix for Chemistry recently, but I would say they are pretty good (first term was online though haha, when I go back I'll probably have a better judgement). However, the reviews are mixed, I've heard, and it really depends on the teacher you get, but I can vouch for the resources (a good quality theory book + workbook/homework book). If you can, you could probably consider ACE for Chemistry? I know a lot of kids in my school go, including a close friend of mine, and I have seen snippets of their theory and it is way better than Matrix.
