Hey, I'm really confused with Question 4 part b)? I've found the positioning points but I don't know how to find the quartile values. When I calculate it myself, I get a different answer to what I get when I use Excel. Please help. Ok, for Central Office 1, I got 5.25 for the positioning point of the first Quartile. What am I supposed to do after that? Do I average the values on the sides of the positioning point? Like 0.93 + 0.97/2. Or do I work it out the way it is worked out in Thinking Challenge in our lecture notes? Which is; 0.93 +.25 *(0.97 -0.93).
Or do I work it out using one of the ways that is shown in the textbook on page 92. Which is I round the positioning point to the nearest integer and select the numerical value of the corresponding observation.

countries whose politicians lie a lot. The US from memory is the biggest outlier

you're not very helpful for a uni nerd that you are. :p
I LOVE UNI!!!! Especially maths. Well not really the latter. I do love tig though.

Outliers are explained in the text book. I really can't remember the exact way to calculate them. Look them up under the emperical rule

just press data analysis >descriptive statistics and it does all of them. delete whatever you don't need.

What the fuck is with 2(b) is it that simple or is it some trick question that has something to do with Tig and his legal case with those optometrists?

I got that too. It basically means that there is a weak linear relationship. Expand on that.....

For question 2 do we have to show if we have worked out the descriptive stats manually or is it solely Excel work?
