no idea where spectrum is, except that it's in syd, but anyone who actually reads this should consider these guys..they're from here, most of them went to my school actually! but aside from that small amount of bias, they are pretty good lol

You buy a ticket, then you go. While you're there, there will likely be a combination of the following:

* Music
* Food
* Drugs
* Alcohol
* Bogans
* Oppressive security measures

Whether or not it's worth it depends on the lineup (typically released in about three separate announcements, to build excitement [or letdown] you see), and whether you like enough of the bands on the list to put up with the bogans, the wasted/smashed, and the security. Usually it's a pretty fun day, as long as there's some stuff there you really want to see. If you're just going for kicks, it'd probably still be alright, but some of the other stuff might be more annoying than it's worth if you're just along for the ride.

You should be warned in advance that if you want to get near a stage, typically you'll end up waiting in a line to get inside the D-barrier for quite some time, being crushed by morons who think that the security will let you all inside if you act enough like retards. This one really pisses me off, there's nothing quite like being shoved in the back in a huge crowd to the point where you turn around to king-hit someone and realise it's some midget, and/or female.
