I have just sat through 2hrs of watching and fast-forwarding of LR's 1938 release of 'Olympia' and I cannot remember ever being so bored before..... Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there is a great deal of technical and artistic merit within the production but I fail to be convinced of it's worth within the history classroom.

 Triumph of the Will (1936), the movie reel archive of the Nuremberg Rallies, is not as ponderous and far more accessible but at 3hrs is far too long. Lots of faces, drums and emblems.

Any thoughts.

Which was the movie that got destroyed and there's no records of?

Anyways, I'm sure they were great films during their time. But I do feel for you, I couldn't imagine sitting through them.

I wouldn't have volunteered to watch them, that's for certain. I wanted to see I should use them in class or not......

Aspects, maybe..... but not in their entirety.

So you did volunteer to watch? Sorry, that's a confusing post there!

Not so much 'volunteered' as much as expected to as Head of Dept! Still, I feel a little more educated but I will have to bargain for those lost two hours somewhere........
