:read: Ok, one I can think of from the top of my head is Child Refugees held in detention centres in Australia- obviously a violation of human rights. Australia has signed CROC and ratified it so there are domestic legislations including Education Act 1990 (NSW) which makes education compulsory between the ages of 6 and 15 in NSW. Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission Act 1986 (Cth) is a legal mechanism to improve the enforcement of human rights in Australia.
Here are some other ones (around the world):
  • women's rights to equality
  • equality of access to clean water and other resources
  • child soldiers
  • labour laws and sweat-shop or outworkers
  • child abuse/domestic violence
  • access to education
  • international trafficking of sex slaves
  • torture (especially US torturing soldiers after 9/11 etc)
  • death penalty
  • refugees
Hope that helps
