does anyone ever had an experience with ozemail adsl or any of their internet plans?
is it good? eg fast speed when opening web pages.
fast speed on international sites (whose servers are not in america and not in australia) would be a plus (but not a major concern), those int sites being some asian sites (refused to mention specific country/ies haha)

and with the limited download adsl, if i go over does it really get to the normal 56K dialup speed, and not slower??
im thinking of getting the $29 plan btw

thanks.

I've heard its pretty good, and the capping is quite unreliable so ppl have downloaded 14gb and still not been capped. Im also thinking of the $29 plan aswell.

Yes, the ability to open international websites is a bonus but these days, it comes standard :p

I think some ISPs are slower in opening SOME international sites.. and some ISPs have problems with some sites (or, some sites bandwidth or connection is not good enough for those ISPs). I might be wrong.

That's not a major concern though.

Is it true that the less popular ISPs have trouble with "lame" international sites though? (those lame sites are usually slow on ALL Australian ISPs)

it would be difficult to say :\

since most (?) ADSL providers are with telstra, wouldn't their speeds be roughly the same (ceteris paribus)? but it would be almost impossible for a household user to physically 'test' the speed of each ISP... best to listen to friends' recommendations (or ppl at whirlpool)...

to be honest, i've learned to live with the world wide wait, even on my iprimus 56k.

omg can u stop using those latin words..
im used to the world wide wait too haha...
>> even on my iprimus 56k <<
is that the plan u r using at the moment?

well if they use telstra then yeah, the speed should be the same..
i forgot that they used telstra. eh, i actually knew they used telstra line but somehow thought they had their own bandwidth etc (so they just use telstra cable, as in wire).

ISP's only cap the maximum possible bandwidth (as per your plan)

I'm with Ozemail, I use the $49.95 per month. 256kps with a 12gb D/L limit.
I'm not sure about the 'reducing your speed bit' cause I haven't come close to the 12gb limit yet. (I don't do an awful amount of downloading mind you.) But I find that Ozemail is a very reliable and constant (in terms of speed) connection.
But if you're a big downloader, I'd be inclined to get the 512kps package rather than the 256kps, due to the obvious speed difference. It takes me about 3min to d/l a 5mb file, which is roughly 25kb-30kb per sec.
But yeh look around for various ISP's, if you're afraid of going 12gb there a few unlimited d/l plans out there.
