Conditioning - Allows the muscle involved to be strengthened gradually to prevent muscle atrophy
Fitness - Allows return to play without losing required sport specific skills

What are the types of anxiety and how are they managed? Write your answer with a specific athlete an as example.
Trait: athlete's natural/predisposed anxiety to everyday situations
State: anxiety to a particular situtation

uhhh libby tricket manages her state anxiety when swimming in the olympics by mental rehersal of the swim to gain familiarity and decrease anxiety

Resting heart rate : decrease as due to training the heart is a muscle and it gets stronger therefore it does not require to pump as much as it is meeting the oxygen required by the body.
stroke volume: increases- heart is stronger =pumps more blood.
Muscle hypertrophy: training focused on muscle fibers induce muscle hypertrophy there muscle growth. Decrease in training can result in muscle lost (muscle atrophy).
Oxygen uPtake : increases due to increase in haemoglobin level and higher cardiac output.

What is mental rehersal and how can it affect an athletes performance
mental rehersal is visualising the performance, how their body would feel, the crowd etc.
it helps manage anxiety by promoting task familarity and also mentally prepares the athlete's mind, setting them up for success? idk LOL

State- situational e.g stress caused at a grand final. Can be manages through relaxation concentration and mental rehearsal etc
Trait- every day stress eg getting to training late (haha silly example) Managed by relaxation techniques.

Haha yeah, I think the markers like it when you use examples. I always remember 'Lay down Sally' from the Olympics her anxiety was that bad she stopped rowing and just layed there hence state anxiety.

Nutritional considerations for a marathon runner: pre-performance eg carbohydrate loading(carbs best for anything lasting 1 hour+), during performace eg water? post-performance, replace the energy lost as quick as possible.

Describe the energy system(s) used by an athelete in a 400m race

Was (warm-up & cool-down)
The (training thresholds)
Real (reversibility)
Penis (progressive overload)
Saver (specificity)

answer: ATP for the first initial 10-12 seconds then once CP supplies are finished,
use of lactic acid system starts, where ATP combines with glycogen producing energy, but with the byproduct of lactic acid, which starts to saturate the muscle (downfall, = fatigue)

what is the importance of graduated exercise in the rehab process [ sports med]
i think graduated exercise emphasises on painfree movement, also employing the principles of progressive overload and specificity to gradually bring full function back to the injured area? cos if one was to be sedentary during rehab process, the injured muscle/joint will have contracted due to the scar tissues and will be non-complient, and weak

ah crap i need to memorise the sillybus

Anaerobic training encompasses building power (strength and speed), plyometrics and short interval training;
in light of these, training thresholds are evident in use of Repetition Max (for specific power training), or in the case of short interval training, the pace, intensity or rest period

It is a holistic heath approach, and it is becoming widely accepted.it is also cheap
Also because, tradional medicine may not have any affect, there's such a wide range of diversity, and alot of suffers with chronic pain
