I have worked out answers to these but not sure if they are right
a. A class debating group consists of 12 students, 8 of whom are girls. How many debating teams of 4 can be formed allowing:
i. no girls at all
ii. exactly 1 girl
iii. at least 1 girl
iv. equal number of boys and girls
v. if 1 particular girl, mary, is to be excluded, but one particular boy, john, is to be included.
b. the letters of the word GEOMETRY are arranged in a straight line. How many arragnements are possible:
i. if the vowels must occupy the 2nd, 4th and 6th places.
ii. if the arragnement is to begin and end with the letter E.
iii. if the 2 Es are to be seperated.
