A 14-year-old boy has been charged over an explosion and fire that caused more than $5 million worth of damage to a southern New South Wales high school.
The fire in Hay caused an explosion that threw debris, including a solid door, more than 50 metres and caused damage to neighbouring homes and shops in early July last year.
The blaze damaged the school's science and library building.
The boy was arrested at Hay today and charged.
He was conditionally bailed to face Hay Children's Court on July 7.
Police say a number of locals helped them in their investigation.
