Hey,

the other day when i asked my teacher what will be an atar we need to do good for our atar she said high 80`s. When i said what about 75 she said our atar will go down. is this true?

Hi theonly1, the ATAR is a rank so I'm unsure what she means by "75...atar will go down".

Since it is a rank an atar of 90 means your in the 10th percentile (top 10%) and an atar of 70 will mean you're in the 30th percentile. So I believe it's not true what she said.

Sorry my wording was wrong. What i had meant is that when i sit my HSC for physics and i get a mark just say 75%, my total mark will scale down? Do you get me?
