Hey! I need some surveys done ASAP for my PIP - would appreciate it so much if you could fill this out - my PIP is on society's dependancy on technology:

  • You’re in the car ready to drive away and realise you’ve left your phone inside the house – do you:
    • Run back inside and get it without questioning the thought of being without it all day
    • Are annoyed, but choose to get on your way and leave it inside
    • Sigh, and race inside to get it
    • Drive away – not at all concerned about being without it all day

  • Your iPod has just run out of battery – you:
    • Don’t worry about it – you can recharge it as soon as you get home
    • Freak out – what are you going to listen to?
    • You ask around to use someone else’s iPod
    • Put the ear phones in your ears anyway – you want to avoid social confrontation

  • If you were without your phone for a day, unable to communicate with others and you needed to, how would you feel? ___________________________________________

  • Your phone is 2 years old, without the latest features and aesthetically displeasing; do you feel:

    • It doesn’t matter to you – it still works fine with basic features
    • You feel you need to update to keep up with friends
    • You hate using it because it makes you look stupid
    • You don’t show others, and make calls and send messages discreetly

  • You’ve just found out your computer will be in repair for 2 weeks –
    • You take this as a joke – how could you be without your computer for a whole 2 weeks?
    • You question alternatives such as using a library computer or a friends
    • You are not concerned
    • You decide you will constructively use your time without the computer to develop a new hobby or read a novel

6. Using a laptop in class makes you look:

a. Sophisticated and classy
b. Educationally advanced
c. like a nerd
d. like a ‘try hard’

Thanks!!!!

You’re in the car ready to drive away and realise you’ve left your phone inside the house – do you:
I'll go back and get it 99% of days. In fact, I'll go back if I'm within about a block of the house. But as long as I know where it is, I won't stress too much about not having my phone on me, unless I know I'm going to have to call for a lift home or something.

Your iPod has just run out of battery – you:
Don’t worry about it – you can recharge it as soon as you get home

If you were without your phone for a day, unable to communicate with others and you needed to, how would you feel?
I usually only really use my phone to call my parents and get a lift home/let them know if plans have changed. As I said before, as long as I know where the phone is, I won't stress too much. On weekends, I quite often won't even check my phone for about 24 hours anyway if I'm not going out.

Your phone is 2 years old, without the latest features and aesthetically displeasing; do you feel:
My phone is actually almost 2 years old, and it was cheap to start with. It's pretty and black though. If I were to get rich and be able to afford a phone with a camera, I'd get one. But mine sends and recieves texts, and I can make and recieve calls, so it's cool.

You’ve just found out your computer will be in repair for 2 weeks –
We have 5 computers in a family of 4. No biggy. I'll just moan about how slow Dad's computer (which is the one I usually use if mine's dead) is.

6. Using a laptop in class makes you look:
d. like a ‘try hard’, unless you're researching on the net or everyone else is using computers

Hey! I need some surveys done ASAP for my PIP - would appreciate it so much if you could fill this out - my PIP is on society's dependancy on technology:

You’re in the car ready to drive away and realise you’ve left your phone inside the house – do you:
Run back inside and get it without questioning the thought of being without it all day
Are annoyed, but choose to get on your way and leave it inside
Sigh, and race inside to get it
Drive away – not at all concerned about being without it all day (haha, I don't drive, but still)

Your iPod has just run out of battery – you:
Don’t worry about it – you can recharge it as soon as you get home
Freak out – what are you going to listen to?
You ask around to use someone else’s iPod
Put the ear phones in your ears anyway – you want to avoid social confrontation
:( I don't have any sort of music player

If you were without your phone for a day, unable to communicate with others and you needed to, how would you feel? I VERY RARELY need to communicate with others, or use my phone at all actually... I'm always forgetting to charge my phone anyway so I'm often without it, and I don't mind... just borrow a phone if I need it that badly

Your phone is 2 years old, without the latest features and aesthetically displeasing; do you feel:
It doesn’t matter to you – it still works fine with basic features
My old phone: giant cracked screen, back lost and battery always falling out, 2 years old, creaks when you open it, rusting, the whole nine yards. But it finally died a few weeks ago, and I had to get a new one :(

You’ve just found out your computer will be in repair for 2 weeks –
You take this as a joke – how could you be without your computer for a whole 2 weeks? NO INTERNET???

6. Using a laptop in class makes you look:
d. like a ‘try hard’
(unless, of course, other people are using them - eg for a research task or something)

Thanks!!!!
that's cool :D

I only really use it for making arrangements and confirming them, because usually the more important things are organised beforehand or in person

You’re in the car ready to drive away and realise you’ve left your phone inside the house – do you:
Run back inside and get it without questioning the thought of being without it all day

Your iPod has just run out of battery – you:
You ask around to use someone else’s iPod

If you were without your phone for a day, unable to communicate with others and you needed to, how would you feel?
Probably anxious, depending on how strongly I needed to contact the person. I'd also be annoyed that I didn't have a way of checking the time, since I use my phone's clock as a watch.

Your phone is 2 years old, without the latest features and aesthetically displeasing; do you feel:
It doesn’t matter to you – it still works fine with basic features
Before January this year, I was using a phone which was made in 2003

You’ve just found out your computer will be in repair for 2 weeks –
You take this as a joke – how could you be without your computer for a whole 2 weeks?

  • If you were without your phone for a day, unable to communicate with others and you needed to, how would you feel? i would feel uncomfortable, and thus try to avoid the situation

  • If you were without your phone for a day, unable to communicate with others and you needed to, how would you feel?
it wouldn't make much of a difference, as most of my communication occurs in person or online. my phone is basically used as a tool to communicate to parents of my whereabouts and to organise outings with my friends.
