hey everyone,

i was wondering if the below marks id be able to get into to doing law at a university in sydney (preferably macquarie or UTS). so heres my average for each subject and ranking...

Modern History- 82 rank- probably around 15/40

Advanced English- 80 rank- probably around 30/100

General Maths- 91 rank- 1/68

Iunit Religion- 86 rank- top 10? out of around 40-50.

Business Studies- 87 1/69

Retail- looking to get around 85 in the exam.

What subjects do you think it would be most worthwhile spending extra time on to boost my uai?

thanx heaps!
ps- i go to a catholic girls school ranked just outside the top 120 schools.

your chances for UTS don't look too bright coz the cutoff last year was uai >97 and it is very unlikely the cutoff will drop.

macqu you have more chance but if i were you i would not worry about which uni i go to at the moment, work really hard for the trials and the hsc, then let your uai determine whether you make it into law.

my advice to you is concentrate on the task at hand (ie. maximising your HSC results), rather than something a few months down the track.

baby706, to get into B law at Usyd, you need a UAI of 99.60. You need at least 93+ in every single subjects to have a chance.

You probably need 89+ in every subject to get into Law at UTS.
Maybe 85+ to get into law at Mac.

Frugid and Survivor made very good points there! I mean for Syd and UNSW, you've probably still got work to do. But UTS and Macq wise, you'll probably get in if you just put a little more effort in. I mean, there's time to worry about which course to get in after the HSC, worry about the actual exams that will get you the marks now!

Best of luck!

Santa, you've forgotten why you're on BoS, I see. (That is, to shamelessly endorse your uni.) =p
