Yes it has been done before. It often ends up being an e-ego enlargement tournament.

my desktop:

AMD 1200
512Mb Ram
~160gig of disk space
running win2k and openbsd

my other hardware includes:

3 sgi indys running irix and occasionally netbooting netbsd
1 hp visualize c class running hp/ux 11
2 sparc stations, 1 running solaris, the other running openbsd
1 sparc ipc running solaris
1 celeron 333 running openbsd
3 486s running opensd or linux (my old gateway)
1 pII 200 running openbsd (my gateway)
2 p100's running openbsd (and maybe freebsd on the other one)

oh and a 1.7ghz celery laptop running openbsd.

most of that list is sitting in my wardrobe. one of the sparc stations and i think an indy are currently broken. if i run them all (which i used to) it gets very hot and i run out of power points :D now i only dig them out when i need them for a specific purpose, though i have an indy sitting next to me at the moment. most of them are very old and slow, but kinda neat anyway (i am a unix nerd)

Another one of those AMD vs Intel or who's got a better 3DMark score arguments.

I have an AthlonXP 2400+ which also runs @ 2100MHz
The AthlonXP 2400 is stock at 2Ghz if I am mistaken. The A64 2800+ is 1.8Ghz though.

So my CPU isn't OCing THAT badly. But thanks to crap stepping an the fact that it is a Clawhammer I doubt I will be able to take it any further unfortunately. At 2100Mhz it is about the equivelant of a Athlon64 3100+.

Don't be ashamed Rub!x a month ago I was worse off than you:

800Mhz Duron @ ~950
KT133A
512 PC133 Ram
GF2 MX
60gig drive
SB Live! Value
CD writer

I hear the logitech duo owns though.

My Clawhammer 3200+ runs at 2.0Ghz stock...and I didn't know there was such thing as 64 3100+ =p. Even Sempron 3100+ runs at 1.8GHz, so I'd say at 2.1GHz you're doing quite well. Although read somewhere that the 3100+ was oced to 2.52, although it would get quite hot.

Oh yeah and I've got like four computers in the house, ranging from PII 350 to a recently purchased Winchester 3200+. My ePenis owns, *ROARS*....oh wait...

Edit: Spelling :p
