they haven't asked about japanese advance and life under occupation and POSSIBLY turning points (other than coral sea, they asked that last year but haven't asked others like midway/guadalcanal)
I'm pretty sure they asked occupied territories in 2019 and the Japanese advances in 2021 (in the form of a source)

to those doing apartheid, what do you look at // write for south african security forces? all i have is that the demarcations between police and soldiers were gone creating a combination of forces aimed at preventing riots and maintaining repressive laws -- is there any examples from the syllabus where they are present? (ie soweto uprising, sharpeville) or do i have to find new ideas? we barely looked at this in class ):

edit- maybe i should of posted this in the general 2024 hsc forum but people are active here too so whoops

hmm yeah 2021 is a bit ambiguous but u might be right, and occupied territories is 3.1 "social, political and economic effects on civilians in occupied territories in south-east Asia" but the next dot point they haven't asked, which is 3.2 is "life under occupation: collaboration and resistance, the use of slave labour"

Just to be safe I'm gonna do essay plans for both and then fully write the essay for life under occupation. Probably the most I can do at this stage I gotta get onto the last section and grind out questions.

kitskonstabels - they left 70,000 South Africans homeless in 1986, internal security amendment act no.76 (1976), Biko’s death in custody (1977)

Causes of war has already been asked a few years back - I doubt they’d ask that when they haven’t touched on other syllabus areas

Brill.
You could also talk about forward strategy - where they went even across borders to murder resistance to apartheid. Ie Ruth Frist, murdered in Mozambique using a parcel bomb. It could also talk about how they created war/ conflict in some neighbouring countries etc

What questions definently wont be asked tomorrow for pacific
here's all the past ones in one place, going down from 2023 to 2019

(a) How successful was the bombing of Pearl Harbor in achieving Japan’s strategic aims?

OR

(b) Assess the impact of the Battle of the Coral Sea on the course of the Pacific War.
QA. Why were the Japanese defeated in World War II?

OR

QB. Assess the impact of the Pacific war on the homefronts in Australia and Japan.
QA. For a while we’ll have everything our own way, stretching out in every direction like an octopus spreading its tentacles. But it’ll last for a year and a half at most. Japanese Admiral ISOROKU YAMAMOTO, September 1941

To what extent does Yamamoto’s view accurately describe the nature and impact of Japanese imperialism during the Pacific War?

OR

QB. The War Crimes Tribunals were more about Allied interests than achieving justice.

To what extent is this statement accurate?
QA. Evaluate how effective Allied strategies were in combating Japanese aggression in the period 1942–1945.

OR

QB. To what extent was the Allied occupation of Japan successful in achieving its aims?
QA. How did the war affect civilians in occupied territories in South-east Asia?

OR

QB. How significant was the use of the A-bomb to Japan’s defeat in the Pacific?

cant tell u for sure, I'm gambling pretty hard myself, but most questions usually reference a dot point explicitly and they haven't done japanese advanced so I'd brush up on that and hope for the best lol
