Good luck :) To this date I am still relieved that our school report this time doesn't have any marks or ranks on it, just learning outcomes :p

lol yep, some ppl were like, 'what a pointless report!' But I just won't be able to stand the interrogation from my parents, had there been marks and ranks on the report :p

As of now, I have only 2 ranks which I am dead sure of:
1st in legal studies, with both of my assignments receiving 100%,
2nd in extension maths overall, that includes the year 12 students.

Supposedly it's just something to indicate how you're settling into your subjects, so no marks/ranks till the yearly report (gasp!!) :p So much for the frenzy when we got our report, took me a while to realise that there weren't actually anything other than learning outcomes + teachers' comments :p

psh.. learning outcomes. for us, it's always in the same damn column because the teachers are so lazy. i.e. experiencing difficulty.

As if teacher's comments are of any use. At my school, most teachers just reuse one comment and change the names for each particular student.

I haven't seen that myself, but I HAVE seen a sentence or two being re-used in some of my reports :mad1: For example...

*Year 10 half-yearly report*
Me: "Hmm, this comment sounds vaguely familiar..."

Went home, dug out my Years 8 and 9 reports, and guess what... x.x'''

Re: Preliminary HSC Assessments-Thoughts/Results v1.0

The software that teachers use for creating reports (ReportCard) well at my school at least has generic comments that they can put in without making it personal, a real downer but when you have 60+ reports to do you can't blame them.

Good luck to those still doing half yearlies!

Those that have completed them and didn't get the marks they wanted, not to worry as it is only preliminary year and there is room for improvement in HSC year when everything counts.

Also good luck to those with parent teacher nights and those getting reports back, time to suck up to your parents.

Re: Preliminary HSC Assessments-Thoughts/Results v1.0

combining all our assesment marks, we got our rankings in our reports..
english advanced - 4th (quite disappointed. hoping to push that up to 3rd like last year)
3unit mathematics - 2nd (i feel really proud. the top four's marks are all around the same range so i've got to keep it up)
biology - 3rd (alright. expected)
economics - 1st (as expected)
d&t - 1st (as expected)
ext1 english - i dunno?

love, mr. ferdipants.
