Hi i am just wondering if year 11 physics is tested in the year 12 hsc physics.
Also is any of the knowledge from year 11 physics actually used in year 12???
Is year 11 physics important for year 12 physics, like say if u you went bad in year 11 physics would that affect year 12 physics?

I'm pretty sure part of it is.

Yes. Moving About and Cosmic Engine is used in the first topic of Year 12, Space.

Not sure. But it's better to be safe than sorry isn't it?

But like, that being said, your marks from Yr 11, don't affect Yr 12, but a understanding of Yr 11 concepts will be required for Yr 12 (ie, HSC Module Space requires knowledge from Moving About, Cosmic Engine, and a little bit of Waves).

All of them... the HSC indirectly tests Preliminary stuff from what I know.

roflfoflflflffllflffllflflf.

10% of Prelim Physics is HSC physics.

Well, for Space, if you don't your know Moving About formulas, you're pretty much fucked for Projectile, aren't you? Unless you've done Projectile in MX1. And similarly, with M&G, you need to know your Electricity Formulas.

No, not only do they give you the formulas in the exam, the questions are very straight forward.

I failed in physics last year (averaged 45% and came like 60th/66) but it hasn't effected me at all this year.

just because you have the formulae, you can still get 0 for the projectile motion questions. the most important part of pm is knowing which equation to use in each situation...
well, no shit sherlock.

You mean 10% of Prelim Physics is directly tested in HSC physics?

Sorry, I should have expanded on that.

10% of Preliminary Physics content is required for HSC (probably a lesser value, 5% maybe?) but truthfully none of Preliminary Physics is required to know HSC physics.

You can learn about scalar/vector quantites and shit in a day or so.

HSC is alot more simpler and concept based, with alot of history involved.

(Maybe it's just me hating Preliminary physics as I failed it in yr 11 :D)

So your saying that Preliminary Physics doesn't do much for year 12 physics.
