printing in black and white (1 Viewer)

i have a printer which has the colour, black and white all in at the same time. yet sometimes i have a coloured page which i only want to print in black and white. does anyone know if there is anyway i can do that?

In most programs where you can print, you can click on a "Properties" button which will let you change properties for your printer, and mostly theres settings including what to print in: B&W, greyscale, colour, photo, etc.

:) Be prepared to save alot of money by not having to print colour everytime

"Draft" settings are always good for printing things that can look a little crappy, they save lots of ink ...

or do u mean 2UP, 4UP etc...

2UP is printing 2 A4 pages onto 1 A4 page
the size is reduced so it fits both pages on one side.

www.fineprint.com if ur printer doesn't ahve that functions

ok i tried it. thanks to all!!! i will be saving much coloured ink, black ink and paper!!
now why didnt i know this when i printed over 100 pages of hsc notes

@ UNSW you get:

0 pages per commerce subject
20 pages per MATH subject
~500 pages per COMP subject

i've printed at least 400 pages over the past month
(hsc past papers/ trials/ other school's exams...etc and my own notes

I thought I was saving money by having 3 cartridges...black, colours & photo ink...alas the cartridges are 80+ bucks a pop :p

You can try 'no frills' replacements, which are only about $20-$30 for the replacement cartridge, or around $10 with just the ink that you replace into the cartridge by yourself.

LoL- our skool was charging 20cents per page...i never used to print out anything at skool! :chainsaw:

or u can go to catrdige world, and get it refilled for cheap as well. :)

ours was 20c a page at school, and at uni i think we have to pay for all prints, i just don't know how much
