I have problems burning cds.

I've got my Samsung cd burner installed today, and i have problems burning cds.

Well through realone player, i've successfully burned my mp3's to a blank cd right... then i tried to play it on my cd player and there was no mp3 that was on the playlist.

Do i make sense here?

I am completely lost on how to burn cd's even though i have a nero 5 cd...

Please, help me out....

Does your CD player support MP3 playback?

ummm.. hehee.. winston probably wouldn't like to see that comment there :p anyways, yeah, as winston has said, are you 100% sure that it does support mp3 playback? otherwise we are getting nowhere. Another thing is, if even your computer can't play it then there is definitely something wrong - don't expect your player to be able to play it if you computer can't. Also, learn how to use nero if you don't know how to use it, 'cause (personally) I don't like burning music from music players... (well.. WMP9 is okay at that..).. try nero express if you have it (you should) it's much easier to use and yeah, you can burn music with that too.. if all these options don't work.. ask again ;)

Owning a newly purchased Sony CD Player, does not mean it has MP3 Playback mode. Only specific models have it, you can go purchase a pricely CD Player, and suprisingly it probably won't have MP3 Playback. So make sure, and read the manual to see if it does support MP3 CD playback.

But are you sure, you were playing a CD with MP3's on it, and not an actual normal CD?

I am no suprised that no one has not been able to help you.

1) You haven't mentioned any errors you have got; simply "it doesn't work"
2) You haven't mentioned anything that you are working with, such as the model of your player.

For us to help you, please give us more details.

then go to sleep and do it tomorrow :) but yeah, if you don't mind using some cds for experiment, burn the CDs your friend gave you on a new one and see if it works... If it does then it's either RealOne screwing things up or you don't have the right format (if you are not using RealOne)

OK, i got it done.

The cd copied the mp3's however the disc is not running, the nero5 program said burning successful however when i tried to play it on my computer (testing) on realone player it showed that the cd is actually blank..

WTF...... what could be the problem?

Do you select the burner in Nero and not the image drive?

If you look at the recording side of the disc, do you see a recorded area?

This was the process i followed through to burn the cd:

1) Create a new compiliation (sp?)
2) Add all the mp3's i want.
3) Opened the 'write cd dialogue'
4) Click Burn.
5) Message says 'burned successfully etc..'

Result: Blank Cd.

What could i be doing wrong?

Check the following:

1) Recorder -> Choose Recorder. Make sure you have your CD burner selected in the dialog box, and not the image recorder.

2) Then when you burn your disc in the 'Burn' tab, make sure you have "Write" checked, and "Simulation" unchecked. Finalise the disc if you wish.

That means all you have been doing is 'burning' a CD image to your hard disk.

Your CD burner should also be listed in the list. Select it.

Then either your CD burner has not been installed properly, or Nero does not support your CD burner.

Are you able to read CDs with the burner? Was Nero 5 packaged with your CD burner? What is the model number of your CD burner?
