If it's rotated about the y axis it doesn't matter if its on one side or both sides, cause its rotating.

Seriously though, it'll be one mark...negligible.

umm .. didnt it say volume? that's why they only shaded half .. cos when it rotates it overlaps with the other half ... right?

so yeh you just do it like a normal integration right? like the pi integral ( y-1)dy between 1 and 5 right????

Did you get 8pi units ^3. I didn't half it...I was tempted to.

It was worth 3 marks and I really only think I got about 85/120.:mad1:

the answe was 8pi

when it asks for volume it is rotated around the whole y axis...it didnt ask for area
