From launch, an onboard sensor continually measured the mass of the spacecraft while it was on the mission. This information was automatically transmitted to Earth. Justifying your answer, what would have been observed by the scientist on earth who was responsible for the continually monitoring the data received on the mass from the space craft.

The suggested answer is counter intuitive for me so i need your opinion.

the onboard sensor is in the same frame of reference as the spacecraft so measures the rest mass, the data received will not change
