I know its all done and stuff.
But 12 main characters is far too many.
For the purposes of an effective short story, I'd be wary of even three, with 2 being okay.

..i know you're trying to be helpful and all but you don't even know what i'm doing. my MW consists of five different short stories that are thematically linked, where a lack of character development was done purposefully. so thanks for the unfounded, presumtuous criticism but really, i'm fine.

This seems utterly pointless yet better than Religion study any day (slash Friday night).

1. What's the title of your story?
The Tale of Shortbread Sophie & Kilometrico Kid; or, There Are No Woods Around Here (Yes, I enjoy being pretentious. Don't shoot me. My story isn't 'postmodernist' crap. It makes sense once you read it.)

2. What's the name of one of the main characters?
Claire. (She's my favourite. Although I'd absolutely hate her if I met her in real life.)

3.Is/are they guys/girls?
She's a girl. Her name is Claire. ?

4. What is one setting/location?
A bus.

5. If you could pick a genre in which your story would be most suited, which genre would you pick?
Young adult? (Again, don't shoot me, please. The 'genre' is more than teenybopper chicklit and bad fantasy. I promise.)

6. What's the time period?
Present day.

7. Did you use any of these five completely random words in your story (random dictionary poke): stoic, vivacious, audacious, brazen, lacklustre.
No. I try not to be a walking thesaurus.

8. Is your story written in first person, second person, or third person?
Third. Some parts are first, though. They're letters.

9. What is the general tone of your story?
That changes. The third person sections are angsty in a non-teenage way. The letters are... perceptive. If that's a tone.

10. Over how many years does your story span?
Years? Wow. Mine spans a few months.

11. How many characters die?
None. One goes missing, though.

12. What was the previous name for your story?
Indignities

13. How many main characters have you utilised?
Three.

14. How many sub characters have you utilised?
Three or four. One isn't really a character. Just a name.

15. What is the first plant/animal you mention in the story?
Grass. (Eight pages in. The story's not particularly nature-oriented.)

16. Does your story take place in both night and day?
Yes.

17. Have you used any of the five following words in your story: subtle, invisible, gigantic, stubble, morbid?
No.

18. Have you used any of THESE SIX following words in your story: huddle, ice, reluctant, murky, delighted, dangling?
No.

19. Weirdest phrase in your story?
I'm not sure that's for me to judge. Possibly: Mother and son stayed there, unmoving, as the sun sank below the horizon, the phone rang bring bring and then Simon came home, good news!
Or possibly not.

20. How many exclamation marks?
Twelve. (I just figured out how to search a word document. How novel.)
