I don't really see a use for Maths textbooks. School already provides us with Fitzpatrick 2U and Cambridge 3U and they seem like really good textbooks.
The school gives you Cambridge  ?!?! Lucky! I spent over $100 to get Cambridge Preliminary and HSC because we don't learn it in that order.
I bought Cambridge but haven't really got a chance to use it yet. We use Maths in Focus at school :burn:When do you use your extra textbooks? On top of your normal classwork?

Well, if you bought extra textbooks, it is up to you to use them whenever you feel like using. I use my Cambridge & Couchman after I complete all my homework.

Re: Recommended Books

Is it worth getting Chemistry Context now? (since we're almost finished Metals). I've got both Conquering and Jacaranda.

Excel is pretty good. It has really good questions. But it lacks good explanation of the formulas & questions. I will rate it as 7/10. I would rate Fitzpatrick as 9/10 by the way.

Re: Recommended Books

For questions - yes. But not explanations. Probably the best 2U book would be Fitzpatrick. For chemistry, the best book would be Conquering chemistry.

I wouldn't really waste a lot of money on all those books now. We're half way through Year 11. Invest a couple of hundred dollars for textbooks next year.

Perhaps not, but I did want a list of the books available if I ever wanted it and I can get their HSC books next year. However I'm definitely buying a maths textbook.

Re: Recommended Books

I find the worked solutions in Excel extremely helpful, especially for Extension.
Keep in mind I use Maths in Focus at school.

Re: Recommended Books

And don't buy Maths In Focus. It's crap. (No offense, Sarah).
