If two people really want to the relationship to work . It will . Its just about being honest with yourself and with you girlfriend or boyfriend. If you need time to study . Just tell them that . Its beter than keeping quiet and slowly letting your marks drop. I think honesty is best with this situation. and no problems should arise from that. Even if you take a break from each other while the HSC exams are on . Come on its just 5 weeks. Its not forever. But i can see things like stress impacting on a relationship .
Just my two cents

I don't think you should have to break up. Like the people before me have said - if the relationship isn't strong enough to last the HSC, it's not much of a relationship.
im still with my boyfriend. but i'll admit, sometimes its tough when you don't see them as much as you'd like because you have work/study/assessments to do
but my boyfriend luckily understands. honestly, without him this year would have been shit - he's the person that cheers me up when im stressed or cranky or upset or whatever.
our relationship was better pre-HSC, but he knows this is just a tough time for me and we have to get through it
and once we do, it'll all be worth it
(hopefully)

so yes, i don't think its necessary to break up with your boyfriend for the hsc.
it would probably just make you more upset anyway

i'd say you're more likely to fuck up the hsc by spending your time on here, than having a relationship.
hsc is
nothign.

yeah i think it's harder when you start a relationship close to the end of hsc because that's the stage you want to see them all the time and you're kinda figuring out how you fit with that person but you KNOW you have to study and whatever.
i know this as it's exactly what i'm experiencing now... (but he's sooo great)
i've also been dumped right before exams, that was last year. it actually cost me my A in literature... i'd been working so hard all year and just one exam made me a B...
i was so angry with him.
so it's a risk... but i think relationships are an unavoidable part of life and anyway life doesn't get any easier after hsc... we just think it will.

Getting A Boyfriend In year 12?

Do you think it's stupid to get a boyfriend during the "HSC" period? Will it distract you? Pull you down? blah blah...? Or does it not affect you at all?

depends on the person... but if you know how to juggle social life and studies then you'll be fine ^ ^

So either you're single, smashed and at a party trying to get laid. Or you're taken, at your/her/his house and playing wii. Either way you lose the same amount of time.

My point is the more r/ship occuring in HSC in future (especially future HSC students) can ruin our wealth in the country basically on economics and culture.

I'm in Year 12. I had a boyfriend who is in Year 11 for six months this year. It wasn't a good idea.

take kenya, for example :uhhuh:

everything in this thread is contradictory/ambiguous

'getting a bf in year 12', as opposed to 'splitting for the exams', as opposed to 'maintaining a relationship through the HSC'?

Heck, if you can't even do that, well then good luck for the rest of your life.
omg stop jeopardising australia's economic future

boyfriend/girlfriend, bands = distraction?

i have a boyfriend and im in a band,

which is... i think pretty distracting

i know i should control myself,

but i hang out with my boyfriend, almost everyday...

and currently im preparing 4 songs to perform...

i dunno...

i wanna know if other kids have the same problem as mine.

i wonder if i should break up with him?

because.. 'not seeing each other for a while' isnt as easy as it seems...

tell me about ur distractions esp boyfriends/girlfriends...
