I was watching video hits ar about 1ish last night, and they played a Hansons Mmmbop (it really hit home how young that littlest kid was!), followed by that old Steps song ("5, 6, 7, 8!") I haven't heard either of those songs for years. (thank god.) I think they were having some sort of 90s reminiscing thing...but unfortunately I had to study and couldn't watch any more. :( It was very amusing....whatever happened to hanson anyway?

i heard a rumour somewhere that they were going to release a new album!
Geez that would be bad.
Since most of the 13/14 year old girls who bought their other albums would be like 20/21 now i dont know who would want to buy it. i doubt they would appeal to the 13/14 year old girls of today either.

Ah the 1990's, so many entertainment memories..

Things like;

-The 1993/94 craze for alternative rock covers of 60's and 70's hits.. The Lemonhead's 'Mrs Robinson', Ugly Kid Joe's 'Cats In The Cradle', Los Lobos' 'La Bamba', that cover of 'Breakfast At Tiffanies'..

-The dreaded ten-week period in 1996 when The Macarena was #1 on any and all charts.. (This was played at our formal last week. Traumatising stuff.)

-The sheer scandal of ABC kids cartoons being taken off air to show Gulf War footage. (This was big stuff at the time, seeing where I lived, we only had ABC and NRTV to watch.. No 7 or 9 until 1992.)

the "here comes the hotstepper" song.
"Girl I'm gonna make you sweat"
remember "what is love? baby don't hurt me no more?" How horrid was that song?
But the nostalgia of them all is amazing!
I have many more... muhahaha

At least there was the fun of the 'Vanilla Ice gets sued for stealing/'sampling' the bassline to Under Pressure part'. :D

Just think though.. Based on the 20-year cycle of nostalgia, almost all of these horrible one-hit wonders and fads are going to return next decade. I'm already scared.
