Might affect foreign investment into Aus potentially decreasing the demand for AUD that'll lead to a depreciation of the AUD but its impacts will be two fold; One one hand exports will be highly competitive potentially improving BOGS and improving the CAD while also allowing domestic consumers to spend less on imports and instead divert consumption into domestic substitutes -> but may also risk imported inflation and the cost to buy imports will increase and will thus be reflected in the increased prices businesses put out.

Yeah will defs affect overseas investors, but not Aussie ones.

In regular english, so like buying shit from overseas will be more expensive whereas overseas people buying shit here will be cheap?

Well we did enjoy that half-year or so period when AUD was on parity if not higher than USD and thankfully electronic retailer reduced prices of TVs and computers just slightly.

I'm sure those that did online shopping and car imports also rejoiced for that little while.
