yeah i think thats a good thing most of the time. there are a coupe of problems with it
1. sometimes like this year it was sorta a flexible entry so they are basically picking and choosing who they want. im all for people getting a second chance, but there are heaps of ways to prove you should be at uni, giving someone 5-10 extra marks or special consideration is not always the right way - maybe they should repeat, or maybe they should go to tafe and transfer into uni
2. this is going to sound wanky, but in real life you dont have someone coming along going 'do over'
3. these people who get in still have to be compared to the entire cohort, the majority of whom did get a UAI of at least 95 for last year. all else equal they shouldnt fair well
4. they could be a fee paying student
im not having a dig, im just saying it isnt surprising that it just happens to be an EAS, special consideration, fee paying etc student
