Question about HSC

I heard that it was compulsory that we had to be at school most days.

What happens if we do not attend school, for lets say, 5 days? or 10 days? or 20 days? or 40 days?
Are we still eligible to get our HSC?

Re: Question about HSC

If its on assessment task days, you need a doctor's certificate/misadventure form.

If its on a normal day, I'd assume simply providing a valid reason with a guardian signature is enough.

You're not planning on jigging in year 12 are you ? :S

Re: Question about HSC

I think the official line is that 85% attendence is needed, but there are so many examples of people missing more than that and it being fine, so whatever.

Re: Question about HSC

We're told its 85%. If you are away for 40 days that is 1/5 of the year and is a huge problem. Doesn't worry me as I got perfect attendance just a week or two ago...

We don't need a note or anything either though.

Re: Question about HSC

See, I have heard the 85% also. However, the other day I was told it is not that, and that the teacher I talked to would ask the Director of Studies for me. So I guess I will find out soon. But 85% does sound correct.

Since year 10, we have been required to bring in a doctors certificate AND misadventure form when we have an assessment task due in. However, on normal days, I am unsue what happens - I am not absent often, as I don't want to fall behind.

haha NO way. Not in year 12. However, my study class was wondering, because we were talking about this one guy who is here once every two days or so. So, we were just wondering if he would get it or not.

Re: Question about HSC

I missed about 1/3 to 1/2 of school. I guess my teachers just faked it when they sent it off to BOS. Either way I got 96.35 Hahaah

Re: Question about HSC

it really depends on how strict/flexible your school is with attendance. I know quite a few people with <80% attendance, myself included, and the school didnt really care.

Re: Absent Days In Year 12

I've missed 0, but I know of someone who's missed a good 3 weeks due to sport, and he still manages 95+ in most of his subs

As long as you find out what you missed/talk to teachers missing days should be alright.

Re: Absent Days In Year 12

My principal told me i had missed 11/28 days a few days ago.
I counted this morning and i've only missed 7.
Mainly because for two days in a row i have one class each.
And i catch up anyway.
And i've been sick.
