Out of curiosity, what method have you been using in contrast to Better Education? Is this overall B6%?

can someone please ask better education to do full ranking list of %DA?... maths and english are great, but only a small part of what most schools do...

Yes, better ed is just using smh data.

Indeed. It's much better to look at the value adding of an institution. i.e comparing results of earlier years to later years and measuring the improvement.

This has a measurement issue for use as a comparative tool across different schools because there are no common external exams before the HSC, especially given that the SC has been abolished (unless you count NAPLAN which isn't exactly an appropriate measure anyway). Even if you do compare HSC with SC data for the same cohort, the SC external exams only cover a limited range of subjects compared to the numerous courses offered in the HSC.

edit: lol my bad, no they're not, they show the top 100 and then when you click show all it shows last year's LOL.

um, they seem updated. there are differences between the Better Ed list (2011?) and 2010 SMH list

If you read the thread, you'll know why it wasn't possible. (It's illegal and there was insufficient data released)

Rankings are fairly meaningless and unreliable past the top 100 anyway.

Yeah, I remember reading somewhere that it is illegal to post/share/publicise stats which rank schools

(3) School results must not be publicly revealed in a way that ranks or otherwise compares the results of particular schools, except as authorised by or under a relevant national agreement.

(4) A person must not, in a newspaper or other document that is publicly available in this State:
(a) publish any ranking or other comparison of particular schools according to school results, except with the permission of the principals of the schools involved, or
(b) identify a school as being in a percentile of less than 90 per cent in relation to school results, except with the permission of the principal of the school.
Maximum penalty: 50 penalty units in the case of an individual and 500 penalty units in any other case.

(5) Nothing in subsection (4) prohibits:
(a) anything authorised to be done by or under a relevant national agreement, or
(b) the publication of the ranking of the schools in the top 10 per cent in relation to the results of Higher School Certificate examinations and related assessments so long as the information used to determine that ranking is information as to the results of students that may be publicly revealed under subsection (6) (c).
