Hello,
Need some quick advice here...

I'm currently enrolled in GENS4010 Science and Religion....but also looking at GENS4015 Brave New World...both seem to be interesting!

Was wondering taking all factors in...workload, enjoyablility, interestingness (did i just make those words up?)...which GenED would people recommend?

Oh, and for Sci & Religion...I notice in the handbook it says the view is taken mainly from "Judaeo-Christian perspective" ... would that mean having knowledge of the Bible is recommended?

For those who have done the GenED/s, can you give me a list of pros/cons?

Thanks!
pyko

ps...An after thought, can I still change my enrollment for Session1?

I'll be doing BNW this session, partly because its an online gen ed. I need the time off campus because I'm still working full time till the end of session 1.

hi sunny!
thanks for the link abt the times :) hee, got till March10th to decide..though I'm guessing it would be a good idea to decide at least by the 2nd week of uni.

both GENS4010 and GENS4015 are web based..which is what is making it so hard for me to decide...and from reading the very brief summary in the handbook both sound equally interesting (though in different ways i feel).

hmm...will continue to think about it - any suggestion welcome :)

I took science and religion last semester (and I'm taking BNW in s2 this year. So you can take them both if you really can't decide :p). Um, yeah it's quite interesting. It does help to have some knowledge of christianity and the bible, but you won't get lost if you don't.

I did BNW semester 2 last year and overall it was easy in terms of workload and you could do very well and the gen ed would not take much time out of your day. The topics were interesting and covered stuff like astronomy, artificial intelligence etc but all relating to science fiction. Assessment tasks were quite easy and consisted of open book quizzes, 1000 word essay, an article critique and 10 discussion board posts.
