Re: Semester II Chatter Thread!

Yo dudes, help me pick someone to vote for in the uni senate election. I want to get those couple of pieces of paper off my floor so I have at least partial access to the carpet.

Re: Semester II Chatter Thread!

Vote Angus if you want someone who's going to be living in Melbourne for the whole of next year and therefore fail to serve his role effectively as senator.

Vote Pat if you want a good, intelligent, independent guy who will put in the effort to get a better deal for everyone.

Vote Duncan if you want the above, but a Liberal.

EDIT: My recommendation is 1. Pat, 2. Duncan or 1. Duncan, 2. Pat.

I hope you have proof for that.

Duncan looked like a fucking tool with his save the whales comment and annoyingly in-your-face advertising (for a senate position, show some class). Don't know about the others. I voted Angus because he has the experience nessecary to get things done </cliche>, and also because he's shown a genuine concern/interest in student affairs. He seemed like the safe bet.

Hey it might happen, but it just seems a little mean to defame the guy if what you're saying might not be true.

Doubt it. Uni admin will take any excuse to close their offices.

SRC Results came through:

Libs: 2
Ink: 7
Whigs: 2
Trots: 2
SA: 2
NLS: 7
Enviro Collective: 2
Unity: 7

Fucking lack of a floating quota punished us for not having split tickets :(

What's the policy difference between SA and the broad left? (And who exactly voted for the whigs? They barely campaigned.)

Re: Semester II Chatter Thread!

Incidentally, if anyone takes the Western or Blue Mountains lines to uni, there's significant trackwork on next week and the week after, so you might want to get a brochure from a station or have a look on the CityRail website.

I'm going to have to take shitty, crowded suburban trains between Blacktown and Central :(

Edit:

I may be wrong, but to me it always seemed like the SA were Marxists and the broad left had policies more along the lines of the Greens.
And SA = Left Focus, yes?

SA stockpile weapons for the revolution, broad left don't. Whigs got a lot of preferences from Cumbo.
