Yes, you need at least a distinction average. It's not hard to do in first year, provided you do some work and study (which I should REALLY start doing).

I really want to do Medicine, which I'm even more passionate about than Law, but I'm told that doctors need some legal knowledge anyway (so I might as well go for the cream while I'm here). That said, after my Bachelors degree/s, I'm applying for Graduate Medicine.
Should all things Go to plan I'll eventually be Dr [name withheld], BSc LLB MBBS Esq. (Not including specialisation or any further studies). What a pain to type, and the business cards!
