sheep on a leesh (1 Viewer)

Not really Ext2 work, just for those interested [so pretty much ext2 nerds]
My teacher asked me this question the other day, I havent been bothered working it out yet, but it sounds interesting.

A sheep is on a leesh tied to one point on the fence of a circular field. How long must the leesh be if the sheep is to eat exactly half of the field if:
a) the field's area is 1 hectare?
b) the field's area is 1 acre?

wouldn't you just make the area(half a hectare or half an acre) equal the area of a circle, divide through and surd it until you got r(adius) which should equal the leash length..or have I completely missed the point?

nah, that wouldnt work. that would only work if it was in the centre of the circle. but he is on the fence.
