Who knows how..? The lecturer in discrete today was using something to get him access to sigma from the local XP-based machine... I'm now wanting to do that from college, but they don't tell you how in the computing notes. They just say "you have to find out yourself." Would be sweet if I could practice maple from here.

Cheers :)

To connect to math from inside UNSW, try entering:
Code:
ssh -X zxxxxxxx@sigma.maths.unsw.edu.au
from a *nix box (or Cygwin on a Windows box). X Windows would probably have to be installed as well.

From outside of UNSW, the only way I know of is to first 'ssh -X' to CSE (you need a CSE account), and then, connect from CSE to math. The speed is not that good though, and I don't really think its worth it. If your happy with the text-based maple though, it should be quite useable.

Just get yourself a copy of Maple to practice. You don't need to be connected to the maths network (it costs money to maintain the connection).
