For both of them, the H is just the length of the strip or the distance between intervals.Carrotsticks, is there a way you remember how to obtain the correct value for 'h'? I always get confused...Also, which terms to multiply by 4 and 2 in Simpsons?
ThanksFor both of them, the H is just the length of the strip or the distance between intervals.
I remember it as 2 for Trapezoidal Rule because the area of trapezium formula has a 2 in it.
So therefore Simpson's must have 4.
Ohh right, I got confused because there are 2 versions of Simpson's Rule. Thanks
But I referring to the 2 and 4 multipliers which occur in the middle of the Simpsons function: 2 for evens, 4 for odds?
I knew you would have a trick under your sleeve somewhere thanks.Ohh right, I got confused because there are 2 versions of Simpson's Rule.
Anyway, I remember it as FOTE.
Four
Odd
Two
Even.
