hehe...i go to bed at 10:30 ish and get up at 7:30. I need a lot of sleep :)

does anyone here pull allnighters before exams?
Hohoho, I tried that in the Prelims.
I'll just say that I got screwed over hard. Aside from the fact that I kept having to go to the toilet every 5 minutes because of the damn energy drinks (diuretic), I had poor concentration. I remember in the maths exam, for around 5 minutes straight I was just staring at the page thinking about absolutely nothing. But yeah, I ended up doing fine except I made like 20% worth of silly mistakes (due to lack of concentration).
Also didn't work for English, heh.

All of prelim I pulled an all nighter before every assessment task, I am not exaggerating, the most sleep I got the night before an assessment was 3 hours I think. In saying that the half-yearly and yearly exams were hell.

I have been much better so far in Year 12 though.

I actually have being sleeping so much I am seeing a doctor about it tomorrow haha, I have been sleeping 10-11 hours a day, scary I know...

ah i seem to be phasing sleep out all together- i deciced tv and computer are simply more important. i normally get to bed from about 11-1 and sleep till 7 or 6 (if i have hw), anyone ever noticed how all day you can yawn and feel like a zombee but as soon as the sun goes down you are wide awake. also when i have work it means i'v got a late night ahead of me doing homework. anyway i'm going to bed (and its only 10.30 !!!!!) uncharacteristically early for once in my life! Sweet dreams ;P

I'm generally an e-curmudgeon, but you '09'ers, unless you're among those few people who don't require sleep whatsoever (and cannot sleep), you should see to getting at least - I don't know - 7 hours of sleep.

Ten hour is considered necessary and healthy for the typical adolescent kiddo, but sleep specialists and researchers, what do they know? (Rhetorical q.)

Too little: reduced concentration; increased risk of burning out, becoming immunosuppressed and sick, detrimentally affects the amount of growth hormone secreted, etc.

Too much: you become slothful, can lead to mass gain.
Usually a sign of disease, such as depression.

Both too little and too much can lead to an increase mortality rate. :)

From personal experience: Pulling all-nighters all of a sudden can really fuck you up, as well as your performance. It puts you in a shit mood, etc.
Coffee and caffeine do not help as much as you wish they did - if, in my case, they helped at all.

Lol they make me feel shit 'cause it seems as if I waste a day. Like I stay up day + night + next day but it still seems like the life of one day. Then I sleep for like, a whole day. That's 3 days gone in what seems like 1 day. Only part I hate about pulling all nighters.

I've never pulled an all nighter in my whole life

Never want to either

Why would you need to if you have your things in order?

just to make sure you're definitely ready and set for the exam

at least you'd know that you gave it the best shot

and yeah like you sed, some lazy ppl (i for one) tend to study the night before the exam cs they procrastinate too much.
