We talked to our teacher/tutor and friends and everyone agreed that the test was reasonable (standard english). The adv paper was also within expectation and wasn't totally difficult overall.
It was okay in the sense that it was quite doable and not completely random as you just explained however I can never feel certain about English Exams.
